Symphony Orchestra to Present Fall Concert
The 企鹅体育直播 University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. R茅gulo鈥疭tabilito, will present its fall concert on Monday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.听听
鈥淭he opening concert for this year鈥檚 season is really special,鈥� said Stabilito. 鈥淲e are preparing a repertoire with a variety of emotions, composition styles, and symphonic colors.鈥澨�
The performance will include pieces such as Bruckner鈥檚 鈥淥verture in G Minor鈥� and Barber鈥檚 鈥淔irst Essay Op. 12.鈥� The orchestra will also present Borodin鈥檚 鈥淪ymphony No. 2,鈥� which will be divided into four movements, each one highlighting a different aspect of the orchestra.听听
企鹅体育直播鈥檚 Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble of select instrumentalists who perform operatic, choral, and other major symphonic works.听听
Stabilito, an artist in residence at 企鹅体育直播 and music director and conductor of Oak Ridge Symphony in Tennessee, has accompanied renowned international soloists and made frequent appearances as a conductor for opera, orchestral, and ballet productions. He is also a permanent guest conductor in the Festival Latinoamericano de M煤sica (Latin American Music Festival) in Caracas. He and his wife founded the Latin-American Music Initiative (LAMI), an organization that seeks to promote Latin American composers and their works.听听
