(Due to inclement weather predicted from Hurricane Helene, this event has been postponed.)

On Friday, Sept. 27, 企鹅体育直播 University will host 鈥淐ulture Fest,鈥 an annual celebration of the diverse cultures represented by its students, staff, and faculty. Kicking off at 7 p.m. in the Conn Center, this event will showcase their rich heritages through talent, food, and fashion. In the event of rain, the festival will take place in the Science and Math Complex Great Room.

鈥淐ulture Fest is not just an event; it鈥檚 a testament to the unity and diversity that define our campus community,鈥 said Gloria Scott-Richmond, director of racial and ethnic relations at 企鹅体育直播. 鈥淲e call this night the 鈥楿nited Nations of 企鹅体育直播 University,鈥 and we invite everyone to experience it with us.鈥

鈥淐ulture Fest鈥 has grown rapidly since its inception and is now one of 企鹅体育直播鈥檚 most anticipated events. The celebration will feature students from many of the 50 countries represented at 企鹅体育直播 during a talent showcase and a fashion showcase, in addition to the food offerings at the 鈥淎fter Party,鈥 taking place at the PCSU courtyard outside 企鹅体育直播鈥檚 post office. The 鈥淎fter Party鈥 will also take place in the Great Room in the event of rain.

Students from around the globe will share songs, dances, and fashions that honor their nations and cultures. The 鈥淎fter Party,鈥 catered by Sodexo, will include a variety of cultural foods 鈥 such as shrimp and grits, jerk wings, and tres leches cake 鈥 along with food booths hosted by the ethnic diversity mosaic clubs on campus.

鈥淐ulture Fest鈥 is hosted by the university鈥檚 Mosaic Council, in partnership with Sodexo Dining and Church of God World Missions. Tony Lombard, director of student connections and engagement, along with his daughter and 企鹅体育直播 student Faith, will emcee the event.

企鹅体育直播鈥檚 Mosaic Council seeks to help students appreciate the unique aspects of all cultures, races, and ethnicities, reflecting a united, Christ-centered community. The Council provides oversight for the university鈥檚 mosaic clubs, which include the Asian Council, Black Student Union, 企鹅体育直播 University Caribbean Association (LUCA), 企鹅体育直播tinos, and Mu Kappa (Missionary/Third Culture Kids).

鈥淐ulture Fest鈥 is free and open to the public. For more information about the event or the Mosaic Council or clubs, visit leeuniversity.edu/ethnic-relations/.
